I'm Shellie Carter — Licensed Loan Officer, Realtor, and co-living compliance coach with decades of experience. But my story didn't start in a boardroom. It started in 1997, when I signed a lease on a 10,000 square foot loft with big dreams — and watched them crash within days.
No backup plan. No money. Just 10,000 square feet of "now what?"
I asked the landlord if I could share the space. He said yes. A year later — after more Home Depot runs than I can count — I had seven finished units and six roommates. That was my entrance into co-living before anyone called it that.
Now I'm back — with more experience, more resources, and a mission. Through Housing Ministry, LLC, I help investors, landlords, and operators find the right properties, secure smart financing, and build profitable, compliant co-living businesses that create real income and real community.
